Sara Davies invests in Adam Peaty’s AP Race

Sara Davies is investing in AP Race, the global swimming brand co-founded by triple Olympic Champion, 14 times World Record Holder Adam Peaty OBE and his former training partner and British Record, Ed Baxter.

Sara and Adam met several years ago and the pair have remained close. Sara has mentored Adam over the past few years and has also coached CEO Ed through the company’s significant growth phase.

In addition to Sara’s investment, AP Race will also receive funding from Amit Aggarwal who is joining the company as board chair. The backing from the pair will support AP Race’s ambitious international growth plans. Amit has extensive experience of advising and investing in growth businesses and has worked with Sara for many years.

AP Race was established in 2019 when founders Adam and Ed came up with a vision for the future of swimming both domestically in the UK and internationally. With their lives being based in and around the pool, Adam and Ed’s passion to drive positive change for the sport of swimming has allowed the brand to grow rapidly from strength to strength.

Sara said:I’m beyond thrilled to invest in AP Race because I really believe in what the business does and what it stands for. Adam has all of the attributes that I look for in an entrepreneur - passion, vision and of course bucketloads of drive, while Ed is an exceptional operator and has already taken the company through several successful years of growth. I’m excited to be supporting him at the helm of this business as he takes it to the next level. AP Race has a very exciting future ahead!

Amit added: Adam and Ed have created a really exciting proposition which starts at the grassroots and continues through to elite competition. I look forward to supporting the team as they internationalise the business and build a global brand.

Ed added:After launching a multitude of projects across the UK, in 2024 we took a huge step and expanded into the international market. Over the next few years, we have ambitions to grow our projects both domestically and internationally and, with our first successful investment raise and the addition of Amit to our board, we will be able to turn those visions into reality.

Editor’s notes

AP Race was born in 2019 when triple Olympic champion and 14 time world record breaker Adam Peaty OBE and his former training partner, Ed Baxter, came up with the concept of AP Race Clinics, a swim clinic where swimmers are coached by world-class experts and taught how to race. After the huge success of the 2019 tour, where the AP Race Team visited five venues all over the UK, Adam and Ed saw that the visions they had for the swimming landscape could be made possible through the power of AP Race.
