Adam started his swimming journey at a small club in Uttoxeter called Dove Valley before moving to City of Derby Swimming Club at 14, where since he has been coached by former Olympian Mel Marshall.
In 2014, Adam broke onto the international stage breaking his first World Record in the European Championships in the 50m Breaststroke. Having been crowned Olympic Champion in the 100m Breaststroke at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Adam was determined to become the first British Athlete in history to defend an Olympic Swimming title at the 2020 Tokyo Games and on the 26th July (2021) he did just that.
Adam is widely regarded as the most dominant breaststroke swimmer of his era and the most dominant sprint breaststroke swimmer of all time with over 40 International medals to his name. Adam also holds the title for having the most dominant Olympic Victory in history across any sport or event.
