James broke onto the international stage in when he made his first World Championships in 2013. After winning Gold and Bronze at the Commonwealth Games in 2014, he made history winning Gold at the World Championships in 200m Freestyle, the first British swimmer to ever win this event.
2016 saw James’ first Olympic campaign and a very successful one at that… he came home with two silver medals from the 4x200m Freestyle relay and the 4x100m Medley relay. His move to Bath National Training Centre was paired with his aim to change silver to gold, and he did just that. At the delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympics, his dream finally came true when he was crowned a double Olympic Champion in the 4x200m Freestyle relay and 4x100m Mixed Medley relay whilst breaking the World Record at the same time.
James became our first AP Partner in June 2023 and wants to ensure he’s the best role model he can be for future generations of swimmers.
