    • Ultimate Race Clinic

This specifically tailored Race Clinic will start with an exciting activation with Olympic Strength and Conditioning Coach, Rob Norman and Olympic Performance Psychologist, Tom Bates to give you an insight into how our AP Race Team prepare to race on the world stage.

From here our world class AP Race Team will be running through a pool station and performance psychology station. In the pool, swimmers will focus on the “race warm up”, where useful skills and strategies that our very own AP Race Athletes put into use at the highest level will be shared. Likewise, swimmers will engage in a Performance Psychology Experience aimed at refining their mental focus and optimising performance during competition.

After both groups have finished their pool and psychological preparation and are mentally ready, they will move on to their dry-land warm-up. This stage is a crucial component of a swimmer’s competition routine, with a focus on “priming”. During this phase, swimmers will follow a dry land pre-race routine specifically designed to prepare their bodies to perform at the highest level.

Following this, swimmers will be introduced into the aquatics arena with a very special entrance and a chance to put into practice their newly learnt skills in front of our Olympic crowd. Swimmers will race a 50m time trial of their choice in one of the most iconic aquatic arenas in the world. This Race Clinic has been built to not only teach you to race at the Olympic Games, but also practice it in an Olympic venue!

The AP Race Team cannot wait to welcome swimmers from Junior, Senior and Masters communities. With 2 x 5 hour Race Clinics available across the day this one is not to be missed!
