Celebrate the festive season with an unforgettable two-day experience at the AP Race Christmas Clinic.

For this special event, the entire AP Race athlete and ambassador team will come together for an action-packed weekend of world-class coaching, unforgettable experiences and plenty of festive fun.

Bringing together Olympic Champions, World, Commonwealth and European medallists all under one roof, this is a rare opportunity to learn directly from athletes who have competed and succeeded on the biggest stages in the sporting world.

Across two exciting days, swimmers will rotate through a carefully designed programme of world-class pool sessions and expert-led workshops, developing every aspect of their performance both in and out of the water.

From technical stroke development and strength & conditioning to injury prevention, performance psychology and lifestyle, every session has been designed to provide practical knowledge that swimmers can immediately apply back into their daily training.

Alongside hands-on coaching from every AP Race athlete and ambassador, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, hear personal stories, challenge themselves, make new friends and create memories that will last long after the weekend is over. Whether they’re learning a new skill in the pool or sharing a laugh with some of the world’s best swimmers, every moment has been designed to educate, inspire and bring the AP Race community together.

Whether your goal is to qualify for your first county championship or to compete on the international stage, you’ll leave with greater confidence, practical knowledge, renewed motivation to start the next year with a bang and memories of an incredible weekend to finish the year.

  • Pool Session

Experience four world-class pool sessions led by the very athletes who have stood on Olympic, World, Commonwealth and European podiums.

This is far more than technical coaching. This is an exclusive opportunity to step inside the minds of some of the fastest swimmers in the world and discover the details that have separated them from the rest of the field throughout their careers. Every session has been carefully designed to reveal the technical principles, race strategies, performance habits and training philosophies that have helped these athletes succeed on the biggest stages in world swimming.

Working closely with the AP Race team, swimmers will receive live, in-depth coaching, individual feedback and expert insight throughout every session, developing not only a better understanding of what elite performers do, but also why they do it. From the smallest technical details to the biggest race-day decisions, every session has been created to provide practical knowledge that can be immediately transferred back into your everyday training at home.

With one dedicated session for each competitive stroke, swimmers will learn directly from specialists who have spent decades refining their craft at the very highest level:

    • Butterfly - Luke Greenbank
    • Backstroke - Lauren Cox
    • Breaststroke - Adam Ramsay-Peaty OBE & Filip Nowacki
    • Freestyle - Matt Richards MBE & Alex Cohoon

There are very few opportunities anywhere in the world to learn from a team of athletes with this level of experience in one place. The AP Race Christmas Clinic is one of them.

  • Performance Psychology

The greatest athletes don’t simply train their bodies, they train their minds.

Across two immersive Performance Psychology sessions, worldwide renowned performance psychologist Dr Tom Bates will introduce swimmers to the mental skills that underpin consistent success at the highest levels of the sport. After working with elite athletes across swimming, Premier League football, Rugby Union, Formula 1, Mixed Martial Arts and beyond, Tom has helped performers develop the confidence, resilience and mindset required to thrive under pressure.

Through engaging discussion, practical activities, real-world examples and taking the swimmers into the ‘mind gym’, swimmers will explore topics such as confidence, self-esteem, focus, motivation, competition preparation, dealing with setbacks and performing when it truly matters most. These sessions are designed to equip swimmers with the practical tools that can immediately enhance their training, race-day performances and everyday life.

  • Photo Opportunity

Swimmers will have the opportunity to meet and take photos with the AP Race Athletes. This is a chance to connect with world-class swimmers and take away a lasting memory from this experience.

  • Parent Education

When swimmers are developing in the pool and performance workshops, parents will have the opportunity to get involved and learn from some of the leading experts in the sport through a series of dedicated education sessions.

Designed to help parents understand the demands of modern athlete development better, these engaging workshops will explore how families can best support young swimmers throughout their journey. Drawing upon decades of combined experience across Olympic performance, coaching, holistic development, physiology and nutrition, Kevin, Anna and Abbie will provide practical advice, honest conversations and evidence-based guidance on topics that matter most to parents.

From supporting healthy development and fuelling performance to understanding the realities of elite sport and creating positive environments at home, these sessions are designed to equip parents with the knowledge and confidence to become an even greater, more impactful part of their child's swimming journey.

  • Strength & Conditioning

Olympic performances are built long before race day, the strength & conditioning plays a fundamental role in every swimmer's development.

Across two dedicated sessions, Rob Normal, long-time personal Strength & Conditioning Coach to Adam Ramsay-Peaty OBE, will provide exclusive insight into the physical preparation that is vital to build world-class performance in the pool. Drawing on years of experience working alongside the Team GB Olympic Team and the greatest breaststroker in history, Rob will explore how elite swimmers develop swimming-specific strength, power, mobility and athleticism, and why each of these qualities are essential in swimming faster.

More importantly, swimmers will leave with practical knowledge that they can immediately apply to their own training, gaining a clearer understanding of how effective land-based training complements everything that they do in the pool. This is a unique opportunity to learn directly from one of the worlds leading practitioners in elite swimming performance.

  • Injury Prevention

One of the biggest differences between good swimmers and great swimmers is consistency. The athletes who stay healthy are the athletes who continue to improve.

These two sessions will provide a fascinating insight into how the world's best swimmers prepare, recover and look after their bodies throughout the season. This session will share the principles that help swimmers remain resilient, minimise injury risk and maximise the quality of every training session.

From mobility and movement quality to recovery strategies and injury prevention, swimmers will develop a greater understanding of how easy, small daily habits can make a significant difference to both performance and longevity within the sport.

  • Performance Lifestyle

Success in elite sport is built on far more than what happens during training.

In this exclusive Performance Lifestyle session, Olympic Champion and World-Record Holder, Anna Hopkin MBE, will open the door to life as an elite athlete, sharing the daily habits, routines and decisions that have helped her to reach the very top of world swimming. From balancing training with education and everyday life to optimise the margins that matter such as sleep, nutrition, recovery and preparation, Anna will provide an honest and inspiring insight into the lifestyle required to perform consistently on the biggest stages.

This unique opportunity will allow swimmers to learn directly from someone who has lived and breathed the journey themselves, helping them to understand how the small improvements away from the pool can unlock significant gains in performance within it.

  • Coach Athlete Relationship

Behind every successful athlete is a strong, trusting and collaborative relationship with the people guiding them along their journey.

Delivered by AP Race Development Director Kevin Pickard alongside Olympic Champion and World-Record Holder Anna Hopkin MBE, this unique session explores one of the most influential aspects of long-term athlete development. Combining Kevin's extensive coaching and academic experience with Anna's perspective as an Olympic Champion, swimmers will gain a real view into what makes coach-athlete partnerships thrive.

Through real experiences from throughout Anna’s career, swimmers will discover the importance of communication, trust, accountability and mutual respect, whilst learning how to maximise every training session by becoming a more proactive and engaged athlete. The lessons shared extend far beyond swimming and provide valuable skills that will support athletes throughout their sporting journey.
